UTS was founded in 1985 in Mannheim. Since then the company has continued to grow. In 1992 UTS expanded by starting UTS International. In 2001 the network was expanded across the Atlantic through a cooperation agreement with Unigroup Worldwide (USA).

Since its founding, UTS has consistently based its solutions on the requirements of its trade and industry customers and  developed and implemented key relocation concepts for its employees. In doing this the focus was always on in-depth analysis, which was reflected in a continuous development of add-on services like the relocation service or the storage systems.

In 2010 UTS had 24 partners in Germany and a global network of over 1,300 UniGroupUTS partners in 56 countries.
